Last Days of Summer 2015

Our friends from Australia come and stay with us for a week, when they arrive we start yacking before we have even said hello.
Despite amazing technology staying in touch over time zones is really difficult and I am teary when they leave. They are just the most fun.

We sadly miss the 'Girls' wedding because we have already RSVP'd a family wedding the same weekend. The girls live downstairs and the excitement leading up to their day has me dizzy.

Sadly at our event I throw our heavy car keys and they hit T in the face who quietly is unforgiving.

The girls give our girls the balloons from their day and T is happy again.

The weather is iffy again through Sept but we have a couple of good weekends for the Wood Fayre. We go with my family, the Mexican, the Lion Man and Big G. all of who are here without permission.

This year there was mud. T and P learn that not all fair rides are for them.

There is that outdoor stove again, this is the third year I've taken it's picture, love it.

I think it really is the last day of summer.

Oh and just as school start, the very day, P decided a fringe is what is required.

Why oh why?!

The Summer Rain.

My goodness it really came down but we still went out.

We walk back to a cafe and are wet to the bone. I had bought what looks like a navy wax jacket, that is just it, it looks like one, why make one of those and why buy it. Keeps out neither rain nor wind, I still don't know why I have it. For warm days when you want to look like you are dressed for cold?

T likes a hot chocolate but as we have found out, it is all in one. No point ordered anything to eat because it doesn't fit.

Summer Holidays 2015

The end of school and we try and do 'something' every day.
The plan is to know what that 'something' is and do that and not detour, like a mini mission even if that is just a trip to the shop. Still on that no distraction gig.

For instance, the girls asked to do this, we walked there and I didn't look in any shop windows on the way and then we came home. Job Done.

T gets her own room. She is desperate for her own space but then spends the rest of the holiday's in a sleeping rota with her sister. For info that is P's air hole she always has it when wearing her 'sleep onsie'.

They continue to be lovely and I get a cold.
We sort the beds out at Nana's wear practical shoes.

The most glorious show of hydrangea in the front garden.

More trips to the beach and our lovely friends from the IOM come for two weeks and we love it.

We all get colds but I think I look worse. G is fine all through the summer.
By July is his birthday.

T continues to pull off her WHO impression rather well. G gets a Slack Line for his birthday and he and the girls spend lots of time trying to master it. I read on the grass. Best present yet.

The Slack Line has permanent residence in the car boot. It's use in the holidays is endless.

T and P are amazing through the holidays, they play with each other all day, they may fall out for a few minutes but its nothing more and it all makes for a great summer holiday. I am very very lucky
