A quick trip to see family on the IOW

T had to write a piece on a mode of transport for school, luckily for us Uncle A is an amazing fire fighter who was able to open the pumps.

They really are very lucky to have had this visit and I get a bit teary when I look at the pictures and see the love. Uncle G probably took this pics because I recognise the funny faces.

Did you know the fire engine is in fact called a pump and can hold 1800 litres of water that can run out in only 2 minutes.
Yep fire is really serious.

School Costumes.

I am not very qualified to do anything, any work that I do do can terribly wrong really quickly.
Any task can send fear and I am a constant checker which often makes no difference.

Recently I made some real corkers, just this weekend with baking and then all last year with numbers that actually on closer inspection wasn't that bad but it stings to think about.

Did I tell you I work for the Church of England?

I am really good at cleaning and organising but unfortunately at the moment I work with finance.
The good thing about working with money is you can't miss any mistakes, it all works it's way out in the end,  this mantra is praised by the man who checks the books and he tells me that if I know this then, I will never go really wrong.

Anyhow this last school term was one of making things, luckily we have G in the family because, I really need him for stuff like this.
Apart from the cups most of this stuff is what we had at home.

Maths Day - the theme is the Circle.

G cut it all out and P painted it and I think G put on the second coat. P then wore it all morning the wrong way round which drove G insane. Then she wore it to school and all evening and he loved her for it.

Back when I was a college, hot drinks came in crappy cups, and one of the bigger coffee drinkers put one of these together. On this day the idea was used again for Golf Ball Head.

Circus Day

Originally T wanted to be a clown and I made her a romper with two patterns and then she changed her mind to acrobatic, which is just as well because her home sewn all in one really didn't work somewhere everywhere.

Feathers don't always work.

Pom poms work on everything.

Funny little things.

Sports Day.

P is in Preschool and the parents don't go to that one but I have seen P trail blazing with and egg and spoon, which I think she gets from her sister.

Great end of year reports and now we are well into the summer holidays and all is well.

Gonna Dump Some Stuff.

Goodbye Elaine Stritch.

I found her solo stuff a few years ago.
So talented, I have been watching everything I can get on YouTube for the last week or so.

Round Frames. How lovely.

New hair for all of us.

Annoyingly unwell for a couple of weeks T has had a chesty cough which means she gets swellings as she heals and P has had a slow tummy that she has been patiently trying to shift.

A good two days concentrating on little bakes.

Finally. They are supposed to last a year then you get the joy of choosing another pair in the sales for the following summer. These were £120 plus reduced to less than 30 and so well made they refused to give up for two summers. Feels like an achievement to buy something and use it till it's no longer fit for purpose.
Dead Sandals. Would have sent them up to Big Nose at FMH but was worried about him digesting the beads.
Found this beauty in a box chucked out for rubbish.

P wanted to face paint me. Anything for my girls. I'd make a great clown. Kept it on all day.
The delivery men were kind not to mention it and purely commented on the weather and the new door bell.

Not all face paint washes off. The green and the red stain for a couple of days as does the pink which sort of goes terracotta.

Happy Birthday G.

I know you are now over 30 but I'm not sure where but I don't think it is in the middle just yet.

I found this short film that I thought you might like, it's a free thoughtful gift!

Maybe one day!
And we could have a wood shop and a workshop and a campsite and a forest, a lake and Range Rover and dogs and a fire pit the size of a swimming pool?

Thanks for another great year and the girls love you too.

Suns out. Hurrah!

The Last of Rhodes.

These are the last few of my favourite photos from Rhodes, actually I put them on my desktop to load up here so long ago I don't know if they are still favourites.
I broke the iMac and its been in the shop, hence the delay in finishing this little report.

This is the only place I wish I'd gone, loungers close to the beach but in a grassy area, really quiet, like the sound had been sucked up and all you could hear was the bugs in the grass and it felt weirdly like a thunderstorm was imminent. Proper book reading no mans land.

Would you give £2 per month to help this poor middle class girl who along with her family was bitten to shreds, ouch poor thing. T has scars but hat could be all the picking and denial.

When we flew home at 9pm the girls were exhausted, tears from T because she needed more than anything to be asleep, she doesn't cry often so when she does the sobbing is a big deal.
I was pretty stressed, hot airport, babies stripped down to their nappies slightly delayed plane.

It all seems so long ago, we had a wonderful time and if we have the money to book another one then we will, I am fully sold on all inclusive with small children.
No cooking or washing up for a week, it's a no brainer. It's especially good while the girls are too small to prepare a lunch and are vaguely in a schedule.

When we got home the Easter bunny had left them a few smalls to be getting on with whilst G and I drank tea.

Home.
