Walking the Dog

FMH came to visit.

I've smudged her face really badly out of the photo.
It's not necessary for you to see her although she is wearing a really nice scarf and actually she is only as tall as the door handle.

We went and walked the dog this morning and it was lovely to catch up because we don't see each other often since she was dragged north, I like to think kicking and screaming by her elegant and now seafaring other half.

I'm pro Eco Travel options but I could happily drive nothing else ever
Will walk here again. No one around which is my idea of happy
Woodstock made that grumbling sound that makes the earth tremor
because the hounds were out for a walk!

I had to go shopping later in the day for a present for a 5 year olds birthday tomorrow.
I bought loads of cloth and lots of books and it all feels rather lush but I don't know if any of it will be of any use which is typical of me!

Ear Infection

Yesterday I was walking with P to get music group. When and empty hearse and three shinny black limousines pulled up to a stop next to me.
"I'm not ready!" I screamed in my head and my heart pumped fast.

They didn't want me, the engine had gone on car number two hence them pulling alongside.
The men got out and looked amazed at the situation I'd like to tell you that they behaved well in their suits but in their laughing they used the F word loads.
I thought it was unnecessary.

Also

I went to see the Dr. to tell her that since mid August I don't think I've had three days straight without feeling a bit under parr.
She got the full history and when I left her not only did I have a prescription for an ear infection but also the kind words saying that it was rare to suffer back to back infections but it was possible and that I would beat it and to try not being so upset. I forgot to mention lots of things but it's ok.

Apparently my thumping pulse in my neck is also normal for a minute I couldn't remember it pulsating so much and freaked slightly.

So occasionally I can't face the supermarket and that happened this weekend. Yesterday I scraped together a fab lunch for T but I knew that would be impossible today. No bread no pasta no nothing.
So this morning she was sent to school with water and some chopped apple for snack and I headed out for supplies and then P and I scooted up to the school with the box.

P wasn't so keen to leave without T and pined for her at the gate.

Refusing to leave the scooter park
She got stepped for throwing the scooter down
Round the corner she realised she wasn't going to be carried home
Things looked up when she found a wall just her size to play on

Nice gardens to walk by
Still doesn't want to be pulled on the scooter and the time is passing and it's not warm
A full row of white houses looked nice in the cold - not that you can really see that here
She likes wearing her hat like this and walking
She changed her mind again
Nice tiles at the pub. P played on the outdoor furniture for a while
Before falling over in the knit shop - Nice shoes though

She then fell over outside twice, full foot to chin falls as well.
I picked her, the scooter, the hat and the beads up and carried it all home.

She is asleep on the sofa. will finish this and then poke her see if she stirs.

I think I might fight off pneumonia next.
Shouldn't joke last time a said something similar I broke my ankle and landed in hospital.
It's nearly  a year ago.

I am frightened to post those last sentences but I will because it will be FINE

A Saturday in Seaford

So one of my favourite places for a quick indulgence is a small place called Seaford. It's got lots of residences but a small high street and some nooks and crannies to visit.
For one reason or another I have been planning a visit for a little over a year and not managed to get near the place and in fact the trip planned for this weekend was in jeopardy as G had to pop to a family event and it looked like it was to be again cancelled, no joke for about the tenth time.

I usually go with one of my lovely followers, FMH but yesterday the joy of my congested company fell to the lap of the lovely Lucy. Shall we call her L!

But my lovely friend and I squeezed in a quickie and I was home by one o'clock.
Here's what we bought.

T is doing all things frozen this term and this has great pics
This photos is a map! A years stores can't fit inside a 6 man shed. You need to know where to dig for stuff in the snow. IMAGINE!
Is that an AGA?!
The OXFORD BOOK of CAROLS - Mrs Atherem owned this in 1961
It seems I collect these dolls it might not be PC but I am getting them all out at Christmas for a gathering
It's a double flat sheet - Could be a tent carpet or dresses for the ladies in the family

Half way down the high street I said to L that we needed to pop into THAT chemist, did I need cold and flu stuff she said.
OOOH!! and the rest. I don't know the name of this place but it has everything.

So much to look at!
It was so nice to drive through really frosty countryside and take a break from my brain and hang out with an adult who wears nice stuff and doesn't talk about Mamma Mia.
I had the girls last night Whilst G was a way. I am not the biggest ABBA fan but Truly wants me to make Mamma Mia (she's never seen it but has heard it) with microphones - no leads though so it is easier to dance. My head.

And today we took a brisk walk to the shops

EASTER is on it's way!

I'm such a bad mother.

Thyroid Ultrasound

As you know I got a goiter in the Autumn and so was referred through the thyroid system.
The consultant said that he felt it was lovely and smooth and hopefully nice and lumpy and void of a big lump.

Today the Radiologist Dr. confirmed all this but also that there is a big lump on the bottom right about 1:5cm and he stuck a needle in it to see if it was a horror and that info is in the lab and will be back in about 2 weeks and I will be able to get the results in the appointment that I have already booked with the  consultant who will see me in nearly three weeks as he is away.

The Dr. Radiologist also said that he was 99% sure that all was fine but belts and braces were in order just to make sure but a few years ago he would have sent me away and told me not to worry.

BUT WORRY I WILL SO WATCH THIS SPACE!
Appointment is last days of January at 08:55

I also got a parking ticket, on other days I would have thought the ticket worse but I wanted a space to get my slot at x ray.
I wish I had parked right outside the front door and got the ticket there instead of a half mile away.

Next time

These pics are from over the holidays I just noticed that G has uploaded his phone

FC delivered a Dr's bag for P at Christmas

Oh My! the apple dislodged it.

You want your mama to hold you tight when the first tooth comes out

G and T got planes in their stockings
Right

Off to get the cat in and off to bed.
Still got stuffy cold hoping some sleep might help it go away but not sure what the quality of it will be like.

New Year - and we are off!

I spent a lot of time thinking about New Year resolutions and which ones should I choose.

These are some of them

make more money
write more letters
be happy everyday
be organised
make a list of places to walk to with the family
get the beautiful Miranda Hart to go out with my friend Greg
buy nearly nothing all year
use up everything in the house

What a tall order!!

To be honest I have only ever had one success with a resolution and that was when I decided not to say anything nasty to anyone about anyone for a whole year. That was the year before last.
Late in the year I had been horrid about someone I only knew on sight to a friend. That someone suspected so but blamed my friend for being evil and not me.
oooooh!
I felt terrible and knew that I couldn't make amends in that situation so decided that a lesson had to be leaned and so I watched my mouth for a whole year (I might have slipped up once or twice and winced) but on the whole there is a marked improvement especially as I have a long memory when it comes to these things.

That year I realised that for me one really good resolution is the best way to go but I want/need to achieve more this year so have decided from reading around the blogs that doing smaller challenges might be more effective.

So January is to de clutter, organise and flog it all.
The kitchen is done and it looks like we are just about to move out. The spare room looks like we've not unpacked from moving in.

February is the make more money one, who knows how that will go.

This is whats been happening this week.

Making biscuits - I am sure eating less sugar and avoiding illness from bad diet was on the list

Bought slippers as toes were turning blue with the cold so that's buy less stuff out the window

T made us all tea

It got a lot more messy than this

T was bought a lovely paint your own tea set for Christmas

She painted a couple of saucers

and then asked me to do the rest. I think it was limitations rather than boredom that halted the process

My birthday is my new year a much better time to make decisions and resolutions so I am not going to be so hard on myself.
But tomorrow in between all the other daily crap that needs doing I'm going to strip the book shelves.

It's all less to clean freeing more time to make and live

I think it's a revolution

Happy New Year - It's Gonna Be Olympic!

Well we had a lovely Christmas that went from sleepy

to mildly hysterical

This month I will write lists of what to buy, cook, make, wrap and send when mid winter hits because I still think the whole process of Christmas could be smoother.

There felt like very little stress but the ol' goitre managed to blow it's gasket on the big day and now feels like a pebble in the base of my throat so maybe I might have been feeling a little unsteady.

New Year was a house full of friends and was wonderful. A repeat of last year but with a bigger crowd  and a better cheese board.

All the Christmas decorations are down and put away in the drawer and I thought that I had just the Christmas cards to deal with but as I sit here and type I noticed that I hadn't taken down this little lot, annoyingly.

There is also a massive string of lights round the window but I might keep them there for a bit.

This is Buck Wild

He is a character in the ICE AGE films. T and I have watched the films all through my pregnancy with P and the time spent with her on the sofa whilst she used my tummy as a break water is very dear to me.
She has been coming up with alternative names for him.....why?..... not sure.

Anyway T dropped the F Bomb twice over Christmas completely unexpected. I asked her where it came from apparently Daddy is the culprit, I am secretly pleased that it is not me actually so at dinner I made sure that we all used it in various voices and then firmly shut the book on it

or so I thought

It is school tomorrow and so an exhausting trip to the swimming pool was required and then on the way home she announced
"I know!! FuckWild!! oh no mummy that too much like the word we are not using anymore.
Luck Wild would be better"

Happy New year
